Bring a WomanVision program
to your neighborhood or organization! We are available to facilitate
these classes and workshops to a group that you arrange – for
corporations, women’s organizations, hospitals, conferences,
nutrition centers, a circle of friends, and other settings.

We
are also available to speak for groups and conferences and
to do conference weaving. For more information or to tailor a program
to your needs, please contact us at info@womanvis.com or

Conference Speaking and Conference
Weaving
We are available to speak on
a variety of topics at your conference. For example:
- How to Use Ritual as a Tool to Transform Your Life or
Work
- The Power of Women’s Circles
- Women as the Keepers of Ritual
- Marking Your Life through the Wheel of the Year
We are also available as conference
weavers – Through singing, music, speaking, and ritual
we will bring a cohesive feeling of community to your conference.
We will dynamically open and introduce the conference and set
the tone for the week or weekend. We will gather participants
before keynote speakers, weaving that sense of community throughout.
And we will close the conference when it is over, leaving participants
with a sense of accomplishment and energy.
Sacred Rhythms: Connecting to
Your Life
The cycles of women’s lives
pulsate with energy, with special connection to the cycles and
phases of life. On what part of the spiral do you find yourself
right now? Are you ready to start a new project or relationship?
Or is a completed cycle coming to an end, making space for a new
beginning?
| |
“Before
the first of those four (Sacred Rhythms) sessions was over,
I knew I had begun to find my way back to myself.”
-
- - Valerie Gross |
This class will
deepen your experience and understanding of your own sacred rhythms.
Through movement, sound, writing, ritual and guided journaling,
you will identify and attune to your own life-rhythms in work,
health, relationships and spiritual path. You will learn to harness
and engage the energy of these natural cycles in order to transform
yourself and your life.
Planting
Do you trust your woman’s
intuition to guide you towards new projects or relationships? What
is your style of initiating? How do you know when to begin a new
project or relationship?
Growing
Once a new project has begun,
how do you sustain it? Are you successful at developing plans that
you have initiated? Do you follow your instincts to know what is
needed next?
Harvesting
How do you know when a project
is ripe enough to yield results? Are you comfortable with owning
the successes of your labors?
Releasing
Are you able to let go of projects
or relationships that no longer serve you? How do you effectively “let
go”, trusting that you will be provided with everything that
you need?
Rituals for Daily Living
Why is ritual vitally important
to a woman’s life?
How can ritual strengthen your
connection to your life?
What keeps you from creating
sacred space for you and your family?
This workshop is designed to
inspire and fortify feminine spirit. In this woman’s space,
you will discover how women have been the sacred keepers of ritual
for millennia, and how those rituals have consciously and unconsciously
been passed down to you. You will explore for yourself how ritual
can help you to assess and move forward with your life, and you
will identify the ways that ritual can hold your family and communities
together. Ceremonies and traditions from around the world will
be considered.
How do you revive, reinforce,
or enrich the sacred time that you spend alone? Through journaling
and visualization, you will uncover the blocks that keep you from
creating sacred space for yourself. Through movement, meditation,
crafts, and song you will explore the ways in which you can incorporate
rituals into your daily life in order to return to yourself. You
will be given practical tools – some traditional and some
innovative – for enriching your life and making it more meaningful.
Writing for Yourself
|
"Dawn
and Joanna provide authentic, grounded leadership. I
have been happy to be able to just show up at circle and
have their organization, playfulness, and sense of beauty
inform the work.”
- - - Firebrand |
This four-session workshop is
for anyone who wants to learn about themselves, connect to their
inner wisdom, use creativity for healing, play with images and
ideas, and have fun. Using various writing exercises, you will
access your creativity, discover your motivations and open up to
parts of yourself you’ve hidden away. We will be working
with dreams, memories, archetypes, myths, and everyday happenings.
This class can be helpful for anything from finding a new character
for your novel to working through a troubling life event to seeing
clearly who you really are. No writing experience is necessary.
Unveiling Leah and Rachel
Why must women choose between
being beautiful or strong?
Together, we will explore the
lives of the biblical sisters Rachel and Leah, and how their powerful
and mysterious story is relevant to women today. Through storytelling,
journaling, movement, and guided visualization, we will uncover
these two very different archetypes of woman, mother, and wife
in order to become more present to our own lives as women.
This Old Testament story casts
Leah, Laban’s older daughter as having “weak eyes” but
a strong will and Rachel, Laban’s younger daughter as beautiful
and demure. Genesis makes clear that Jacob, married to both sisters,
loved Rachel more. Leah bore six of the twelve sons who would later
become the twelve tribes of Israel; Rachel bore only two, including
Joseph – the most beloved by his father. Looking critically
at the differences, challenges, and gifts of these two women, we
will then look at our own lives: When do we feel loved, and when
do we feel rejected? How has society taught us to compete with
and compare ourselves to other women? How can we feel beautiful
and strong at the same time? What is or has been our designated
role in our family, and how can we break out of those roles? We
will begin to vision how the characteristics of these two sisters
can live in one woman, rendering her alive and whole.
Revisioning Your Relationship
with Food
- Why do you eat?
- What if your struggle with food was one of your
greatest opportunities to connect to yourself?
- Would you approach food differently?
Explore your relationship and
attitudes to what and how you eat in this workshop designed exclusively
for women. Through meditation and movement, we will attune to our
inner selves to understand how food serves us and why it disconnects
us from spirit, from ourselves, and from our deepest desires. Through
writing and creative arts we will uncover our eating rituals and
how we use food as a substitute for other things. We will begin
to envision our food as sacred and discover what we really need
in order to feel nourished and satisfied.
“My most sacred moment was
realizing that I was getting from food what I was lacking in my
relationships. I got to make all of the decisions, and be the controlling
one. I was ashamed to be seen with food and was very disrespectful… .
I think how the Food workshop impacted my life is that I see food
in a totally different way. I'm even different in my relationships
after realizing all of this….I released a lot of shame that
was preventing me from moving on. I no longer feel the shame. Now
I feel empowered….I couldn't believe how comfortable I was.
And it was so much fun.
